About Us
Winn School-Based Health Center offers services to Winn Parish students with no out-of-pocket cost to the student or Winn Parish School Board. Winn Community School-Based Clinic offers all students urgent care, primary care, and behavioral health. Our purpose is to keep students in school, and parents at work, build healthy relationships, and know what students need.
Wellness checkups are essential for a child’s growth and health. The exam addresses a child’s physical health, development, behavior, and general well-being. A wellness visit includes physical measurements, patient history, hearing, vision, anemia check, physical exam, developmental assessment, and a risk assessment. You will receive a letter after the visit detailing our findings. We will send an additional consent form home if your child is due for any immunizations per the CDC and Pediatric Guidelines. This consent form will indicate which immunizations are expected and will ask your permission for us to administer the immunizations.
If you wish to receive these services, please complete the consent form. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us to discuss your child’s health needs, including problems with eating, sleeping, behavior, or learning difficulties.
Cost
There are no out-of-pocket expenses to the parent for services. Medicaid and other third-party insurers are billed, if available. The cost of services not provided on-site at the school-based health center, such as some lab tests, x-rays, specialty consultations, and prescriptions, are the responsibility of the parent or guardian.
