Mailah Panaligan-Paterno, with a rich background in nursing from the Philippines to the US, champions patient advocacy. Her journey began with a BSN from St. Luke’s College of Nursing in 1995, funded by a full scholarship, leading to a 29-year career in acute care across three countries. In Saudi Arabia, she was recognized as "Nurse of the Year" for her outstanding clinical practice. Moving to the US in 2016, she continued her passion for Hematology/Oncology nursing at Willis-Knighton Medical Center North. Alongside her work, Mailah earned her MSN from NSULA in 2023, specializing in Adult Gerontology. She's certified in Medical-Surgical and Oncology Nursing and is active in professional nursing associations. Mailah is dedicated to educating patients and their families, especially the elderly with chronic conditions, emphasizing the importance of preventive care. Besides her professional life, she enjoys family time, gardening, cooking, and traveling.
