Dr. Joan Walker, a native of Natchitoches,  earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from Grambling State University.  She earned her Doctorate in Medicine from Louisiana State University Medical School in New Orleans, LA, and completed her Family Medicine Residency at Baton Rouge General Medical Center.  

Dr. Walker's former place of service was OMC in Natchitoches where in addition to serving as a staff physician, she was Associate Medical Director. Prior to her appointment at OMC,  she served as lead physician of the Womens'  Healthcare Department at the VA in Pineville, LA. In her spare time, Joan enjoys traveling, working in her flower beds, and spending time in the park with her miniature poodle, Lizzie.

 Dr. Walker joined the Winn Community Health Center team in  October 2021.  Her clinical skill-set coupled with a passion for healthcare and wellness makes her well suited to provide quality primary care to all ages.

Jennifer is originally from Jonesville, Louisiana. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2005 and later completed her Master of Science in Nursing from Northwestern State University in 2025.

With extensive experience in Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Labor & Delivery, Home Health, and Hospice care, Jennifer has served in a variety of healthcare settings, including both acute and home care. Her years of experience in rural healthcare have strengthened her passion for providing compassionate, high-quality care to patients in underserved communities.

Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys raising chickens, attending her daughter’s cheer competitions, spending time outdoors, traveling, and being an active member of her church. She values time spent with her husband and children and approaches every aspect of life with care, dedication, and faith.
